Human being,

"self"-taught man,

Reader of Frank Herbert, Henri Laborit, John Brunner, Philip K. Dick, Van Vogt, Brussolo, etc.,

admirer of Miss Anita Ekberg, and Miss Valerie Leon (have you seen her in "Blood from the Mummy's Tomb" ?... Arrrgghhh ;-)

Studied agriculture, before becoming a programmer...

These double economy ideas came to me after :

— reading Media Maps and Myths book, where i found for the first time this very distinction between need and desire. In the book, it concerns news and journalism.

— having read about Terminator, vile genetic engineering made to sterilize crops under the excuse that because some guys in a company fiddled some aminoacids, they were the owner of the all life of the tampered plant.

The split idea between need and desire seems obvious when applied to the products we consume.

The Terminator demonstrate the EXTREME danger that exists to leave the control of humans food in some private hands, having more concerns in making money than in safety, etc. The point is not the money: the private sector is still here...
The point is that human beings survival must not be all in hands of short termed private interrest.
